I love inspiring quotes and poems. One of my favorites is “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!”. As I got older, I changed the adage to “When life gives you lemons, pour the tequila!”. However, the sentiment is the same, make the most out of what you have been given. I count myself blessed to be one of the eternally optimistic individuals in the world and I try to share that light with everyone I meet. Covid and all the ensuing complications have challenged even the sunniest of dispositions and we’ve all probably had too much tequila! Despite these challenges, it has been one of the most rewarding and eventful times in my life. Hopefully, I was able to bring that to perspective to my kids. It was an opportunity to reset our patterns and systems and create a “new normal” that is the reality we want for ourselves. While it has had its challenges and hasn’t been easy it has been worth it.
The last couple of weeks have been particularly challenging for me with a lot of people I love hurting for one reason or another. It has been an opportunity for me to support and love them while encouraging them as much I can. It has been a reminder for me to hug the ones I love a little tighter and never pass up an opportunity to say I love you!
