A wise friend once said, “The hardest thing to do is to hurt someone you love.” Love is complicated and true love knows no real beginning or end. It just is. More often than not, love isn’t enough. Being true to oneself however is always enough. When you take a long hard look in the mirror and see yourself and your situation for what it is you have a choice to make. Sometimes the choice is easy and sometimes that choice is the hardest thing in the world, and it feels like making that decision is closing a door that’s always been open and a safe place. Being true to yourself and what you know to be right might be hard, but it will always be worth it for both of you.
The same thing applies to business and maintaining your ethics and values. When you have the opportunity to compromise what you stand for, you have to come back to who you are and what you stand for. When you will come up against haters and critics, you will always succeed when you be true to yourself. Success might sometimes look like the loss of a position or a relationship but when you can look at yourself in the mirror knowing you have maintained your integrity and values, you’ll always be successful in the eyes of the people that matter, and your abilities will shine bright for other to see.
Doors will open and the right opportunities will be ushered in. When they do, grab hold of them tight and make the most of each relationship and opportunity that comes your way.
