Roots and Wings

At a young age, I learned to channel my emotions into actions. Even anger and frustration, I took as an opportunity for self motivation to change what I didn't like. Whether it be physical, mental or aspects of who I am, I removed how I felt and used it to create the reality I wanted for myself. If you can't change the situation, you can change how you feel about it and work to change your role in it.

I've always loved the quote, "There are two things we should give our children: one is roots and the other is wings." (Author Unknown). However I think that while I hope to give my sons roots, it's more important to focus on my own. My roots are what keep me grounded in turmoil, they are the foundation that I build my life upon and keep me aligned with my higher power and the values that I hold for myself.

After that, the greatest gift you can give yourself is wings. Wings to soar to the top of mountains and see what lies over the next horizon. Wings that allow for freedom, creativity and joy!

It's the balance between the two that allows you to reach your highest potential while remaining true to yourself!

Where will your wings take you?
